Survivorship Picnic

Join us at the large picnic pavilion at Brookview Park on Friday, June 21, to celebrate Survivorship Awareness Month! This family picnic is a casual gathering of survivors, caregivers, and family. Stop by to enjoy food, treats, games, face painting, and other fun, family activities. Registration is not required and attendance is free. 

Please complete the RSVP form so we can keep you updated on what to expect for the afternoon! This will also help us provide an appropriate amount of food.

FAQs

Where will the picnic take place?

The picnic will be located at the large picnic pavilion at Brookview Park in Golden Valley (200 Brookview Pkwy N, Golden Valley, MN 55426). Look for our signage!

When is it and what time?

The picnic is on Friday, June 21, from 4-7 PM.

Who is invited to the event?

All survivors, caregivers, families, friends and loved ones are invited to join us for this fun, easy-going, get-together.

What if I can't be there the whole time?

That's ok! You can come and go as you need during the 4-7 PM time. You do not need to be there for the entire event.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope! We will have activities, yard games, and a food truck. You're welcome to bring your own personal items (chairs, blankets, cooler) if you prefer .

Who is the speaker?

We do not have a speaker for this event. It is a casual, fun, get-together for survivors, caregivers and their families to meet other survivors, caregivers and their families. You can come and go as you need between 4-7 PM.

What if the weather is bad?

If inclement weather is in the forecast, we will watch the weather closely and make a decision as needed. Please be sure to include your email in your registration in case any last minute details or changes need to be communicated.

Who is hosting the event?

The 2024 Survivorship Picnic is hosted by the Masonic Cancer Center and Gilda's Club Minnesota.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you can bring your own food if you prefer; however, we will have a food truck  at the event as well. The confirmed food truck vendor is forthcoming.

Can we use Brookview Park's Splash Pad while we're there for the picnic?

Yes! Brookview Park does have a splash pad available. If weather permits, you're welcome to bring swimsuits, towels, etc if you'd like to cool off at the splash pad.
